The position will start in our San Francisco office (until July 2010 when the company will merge in WWC office) and then you will permanently reside in Walnut Creek after July 2010.
Experience and skills required:
• Working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and accounting procedures. Knowledge and ability to translate data into accurate financial and management reports. Aptitude for numbers, organization skills and strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility to perform a variety of detailed accounting functions and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to integrate data from multiple sources and determine adequacy for financial reporting requirements for GAAP and Department of Insurance.
• Ability to build good internal relationships within the department and across department lines.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to assist with other projects and compliance matters, related to assigned investment’s accounting responsibilities. Strong MS Office Suite, Crystal Reports, and computerized G/L system skills.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in Investment accounting with a P&C insurance company. Experience with Solomon General Ledger package and FRX report writer.
• Ideal candidate will have one to two years of experience with a big CPA firm.
Education required:
• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting.
