Description:
Directs the financial affairs of the organization and prepares financial analysis of operations, including interim and final financial statements with supporting schedules, for the guidance of management. The Vice President, Internal Audit and Controller is responsible for the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports.
• Responsible for establishing auditing policies and directing the departments technical and administrative functions. Plans and coordinates the development of comprehensive compliance and operational audit programs to evaluate controls over selected company activities. Responsible for the review of operating systems to determine if they are operating efficiently and effectively. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. Identifies opportunities to improve operating performance and recommend solutions to problems when appropriate. The position involves supervision over general accounting, property accounting, internal auditing, cost accounting, and budgetary controls.
Requirements:
• 10-15 years of experience in financial management, auditing experience preferably within the insurance industry.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Experience with Solomon Knowledge of French/European accounting preferred.
• Experience in the planning, supervision, and directing of audit personnel and projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially related to personnel development, project management, budgeting, planning and management reporting.
• Able to effectively and diplomatically interface with all levels of management and personnel.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Good presentation skills.
